This dragonfruit green smoothie is a delicious tropical green start of the first summer weekend. We already have a barbecue lined up for tomorrow and today it's time to do some household chores. If you have never tried dragonfruit before, they come in a pink/purple or white variation. Though it doesn't have much taste I just love it's texture when eaten whole.
To make sure this breakfast will help me fly to the chores I added moringa powder for it's added protein and massive amount of nutrients and extra virgin coconut oil to give me a full feeling till lunch!
Are you ready to start the summer and weekend?
2 cups fresh spinach
1 dragon fruit (pitaya) peeled (we used white pitaya, but purple works too)
1 cup mango
1 banana peeled
1 cup fresh orange juice
1 cup water
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
1-2 tbsp extra virgin coconut oil
2 tsp moringa powder (optional)
- Blend spinach, mint, orange juice, and water until smooth. Add the remaining ingredients and blend again. If the smoothie is too thick for you, add more liquid base. If you have a high-speed blender, you can throw in everything at once
- Add superfoods/toppings - such as goji berries, hemp hearts, or raw cacao nibs - if you like.
